Introducing Christina Carlson, MSW – Keynote Speaker for the 2024 Native Housing Summit
We are excited to announce Christina Carlson, MSW, as the keynote speaker for the 2024 Native Housing Summit: Possibilities. Christina is a distinguished leader in the nonprofit sector with over two decades of experience dedicated to addressing housing instability and homelessness.
As the CEO of Urban Peak since July 2017, Christina has significantly increased the organization’s capacity to support homeless youth, expanding its reach by over 350%. Her strategic vision and fundraising expertise have driven the development of Urban Peak’s new, state-of-the-art shelter, the “Mothership.” This facility will offer comprehensive support services, including on-site case management and health services, and is designed with trauma-informed principles to foster healing and community building.
Before joining Urban Peak, Christina held key leadership roles at the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, DSST Public Schools, The Logan School, and the Family & Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC). Her work has consistently focused on addressing housing challenges and improving community support structures. Christina’s deep understanding of securing, managing, and distributing funding effectively positions her as a valuable resource for navigating the new opportunities presented by increased federal funding.
Christina’s extensive background in developing sustainable housing solutions and her commitment to creating comprehensive support services uniquely position her to speak on the exciting possibilities for Native American housing authorities.
